or, how i learned how to stop worrying and love mess
for the past handful of days i’ve been attempting to loosen myself up and feel out a style for an eventual (soon) commission tier below that of the art from the last post; my target was something that takes ~2 hours but still looks good, and i think i’ve finally gotten there after several tries, as chronicled below:
the first attempt, and probably still my favorite, but it’s a little too rough for what i was attempting. rose sure is cute thoughhere’s gin in the second attempt. this was, clearly, to see if i could do something in the same amount of time involving clothes for a change. it’s okay, but not quite what i’d hoped forrose (again) for the third attempt. whew this one’s messy. closer to the target thoughmio for the fourth attempt. this was just me blowing off steam, as if it wasn’t obviousfifth attempt. somehow i lost track of time (and target) and kind of overworked the absolute hell out of this. i think this may be the buffest i’ve drawn korki thoughand synthi for the sixth attempt; this one i’m finally happy with (not least of all because i borrowed, lightly modified, and palette-swapped one of wisdom kaye’s millions of frankly incredible outfits). it’s got the right balance of Looks Good and Doesn’t Take Very Long that i was looking for
i guess mostly what i learned from this is i need to stare at photos of people who dress Very Well and learn what they’re doing, followed closely by The Rest Of What I Learned Doing This
DAMMMNNn this is just 2 HOURS???
Sheesh these are all amazing
thanks!! and yeahhh it’s still too slow for my taste? but like. even 5 years ago this would’ve taken twice as long so i can’t knock the results of endless practice
